The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
The Da Vinci Code is highly recommended for people who want a good thriller and an eye-opener. The book centres on religion, Christianity to be precise. It also talks a lot about arts like what the title suggests. Famous works by Leonardo Da Vinci including Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Madonna of the Rocks (or also known as Virgin Of The Rocks), The Vitruvian Man are included in the novel. Twists and turns everywhere in the book, up till the last two chapters are still evident.
Although the main plot of the story is to find the Holy Grail, it is the murder of a member of Priory of Sion that starts the whole thing in motion. It shows the integrity of a person even when staring death in the face, holds true to his promise to hide the location of an artefact that leads to the Holy Grail.
After reading this book, it has opened my eyes to a lot of things. For a free thinker like me, it was surprising to read that Jesus was actually a mortal but for devout followers of Christianity, that doesn’t come as a surprise. It was also surprising to find that Leonardo Da Vinci was a member of a secret society, Priory of Sion. It is also surprising that there are so many hidden clues in his work. This whole novel is full of surprises and truly gripping.
This is one book that should not be missed!
This book ranks number one in my favourite books to read... Truly amazing!
